Who are your best friends?
- Holliston!!!!! Bobby!!!!! Alix, Tiffiny, Emily, Erin, Anna, Jeremy, Alyssa, Jacob, Paul, Caitlin, Dani, Kelsey, Lauren, Brady, Dhylan, Colton, Nathan, Reed, Carly, Noah M., Noah S., Melanie, Sarah, Logan, Johnny, Danielle, ice cream rapper writer Andrew, and my whole family. I have so many other phenomenal friends who I love! And, of course, all my fans are very dear to me!!!!!!!!
What was the 1st ever acting role that you booked?
- A role in a dental commercial.
What is your favorite character that you’ve ever portrayed?
- That’s a tough one! Sam’s loads of fun because she’s such a unique, interesting character that you don’t see a lot. She’s not a typical character, which is great! But a few of my other favorites were my roles in The Inside and Strong Medicine.
What part of LA is your favorite?
- I love going to The Grove, that’s really fun. American Girl Place rocks! I also enjoy going to Universal Studios…woohoo!
Do you have a myspace or a facebook?
- Okay, everyone asks this, so it’s time to clear the question up…nope! I don’t! I actually had a facebook for a while, but the people who run facebook deleted it because they thought I was a poser. Yeah… :0(.
Are you aware of the Jennette McCurdy’s on myspace?
- Yeah, my friends have told me there are a lot of posers. I figure that as long as they are doing no harm, it’s okay.
How do you cope with your schedule and all the pressure?
- Just being honest, at times it can get hard! My schedule is crazy busy basically every day, but there are some days when it’s just INSANE! I think the key is to take it one step at a time. If I’m going to five places, my mom will tell me to focus on only the one I’m currently at. Live in the moment! Also, simply breath. I’ll take a few deep breaths and most of the time, it helps!
Did you get your driver’s license?
- No, not yet! I’m too busy! haha
Were the turtles in “iGot Detention” your turtles?
- Nope, but my turtles look almost identical to those turtles!
Do you do really well in school?
- I enjoy doing my schoolwork (one of the prime differences between me and Sam!). I try really hard to understand whatever I’m working on and get all my schoolwork done on time. I’ve got a great on-set teacher (Scott!) who is quite talented with math…that’s really cool because I’ll be starting pre-calculus this year so it’s getting trick-yyy!
Is iCarly really shot in Seattle?
- Nope, it’s shot in Hollywood!
Have you ever thought about visiting Seattle?
- Heck, yeah! I would LOVE to visit Seattle. I hear it’s awesome! I’ll let you guys know if I ever do. :0)
If you were gonna play a villain, what type of villain would it be?
- Hmmm, I would love to play any villain. I’ve played a few in the past, and they’re always very interesting to play. It’s always fun to act out a character that’s nothing like yourself and to try to find that place deep inside!
Do you watch any fan videos on Youtube? What do you think of them?
- Yeah, I’ve seen a few! I’m very touched that people spend their time making the videos, posting comments, and so forth. Thanks everybody!
Any acting tips?
- Work hard! Never give up even when people tell you to. Be authentic! Don’t be a copycat! Don’t sell out!!! Love what you’re doing! Believe in yourself!
Are you planning on acting through the rest of your teen years/early 20s? Or do you plan to attend college somewhere? If so, what do you think you’d study?
- I definitely want to continue acting! FOR SURE! However, I would also love to attend college. Film school would be amazing…I really want to go into writing/directing! Chef school would also be fantastic!!! BUT…I’ll NEVER GIVE UP ACTING! I want to do every kind of role imaginable!!!!! :0)
What are your religious beliefs?
- I believe. :0)
Do you play any instruments?
- Yeah, I played the piano for 6 years. I also play a wee bit of drums and I just got an acoustic guitar so I wanna learn how to play that!
Are you 15 or 16?
- I’m actually 27, I just look young for my age. just kidding haha
Was it fun doing the iCarly soundtrack dialogues?
- While it was fun recording some voice over for the soundtrack, it’s much more fun recording songs for my CD! I guess it’s something about being behind that microphone in that recording studio…it just makes you want to sing!
Don’t you have some vacation time?
- Not much, because during our hiatus weeks we’re working on webcast material. And on our longer hiatuses, I’m working on other projects. But I love what I do, so it’s all good!
Do you have your ears pierced?
- Actually, no!
Where do you get your iCarly clothes?
- Our wardrobe department is great! They get the iCarly clothes from a variety of stores…lots of them are on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, I believe. But some of the chain stores the clothes come from are Wet Seal, Forever 21, Lucky Brand, Roxy, Urban Outfitters, and Brass Plum. I’ve worn a couple pairs of True Religion jeans and most of my shoes on the show are Vans, Converse, or Ed Hardy’s.
Do you have any nicknames?
- Nettie, J, Net Net, Scooter, J-mac, Gracie, MG, Jennetteria (long story haha), Dunday, and Bilger. yeahhh haha
Who does your hair and makeup for events?
- Usually my mom!
Invisibility or flight?
- Oooo, tough one! I feel sort of like I’m flying when I figure skate really fast, so I guess I’d go with invisibility. How cool would that be?!
Will we ever see any iCarly outtakes?
- I hope so cuz there are some funny ones!
What movie did you and Nathan see on the 27th?
- Indiana Jones!
How long have you known Nathan?
- I’ve known Nathan since January 2007 (that’s when we shot the pilot).
Do you have a boyfriend?
- No. I have lots of boys that are friends, but not a boyfriend in that context.
How in the world do you memorize all your lines?
- When I first started acting, it was really hard! But, just like anything, the more you practice, the easier it gets.
How long does it take to shoot an episode of iCarly?
- It takes one week to shoot each episode of iCarly.
What’s it like acting in shows and movies?
- Well, it’s surely not for everyone, but I LOVE IT!!!!!
What do you like to do most on holidays?
- Just be with my family!
Do you have an icq or any other chat?
- I don’t know what an icq is! haha…should I?
What’s in store for iCarly season 2?
- Lots of laughs. That was a pretty weak sauce answer, wasn’t it? Okay, there may also be some traveling, explosions, random wacky super-fun webcast stuff, and flipping people over. Better? I hope so!
Who are your heroes?
- My hero is definitely my mom. She’s the kindest, most gentle, loving, caring, humorous, coolest person you will ever wanna meet. She’s the best!
Is it just a rumor that iCarly will get cancelled?
- We’re still filming tons of new episodes, however, it will one day get cancelled like every other show in the past and every show to come! It’s just a given…shows get cancelled. But no, for now we’re good!
Do you still have a fan e-mail?
- No, I had to delete the account. :0(
What is your biggest pet peeve?
- When people don’t screw the caps on their water bottles tight enough so water dribbles out. UGH! haha
Why haven’t you blogged on KEWLmag for so long?
- Good point! Thanks for reminding me! I’ll do that sometime soon. :0)
How did you get over your shyness?
- Haha! The funny thing is, I didn’t! I’m still extremely shy, actually. It’s just when I’m acting, I have to get totally into character and most of my characters haven’t been shy! I’ve got a wacky/crazy side to me as well, but on the inside I’m just really, really shy. Weird right? I guess I never got over it. Oh well, shy’s not a bad thing!
When you’re working out, what artists do you listen to?
- Songs with strong beats are great for when I’m working out because they just motivate me!
How long have you been dancing?
- I started dancing when I was 8 and I danced regularly and on the competition team for about 3 years. Now I only take occasional tap, hip hop, and lyrical classes just to keep up with it.
How old were you when you got into acting?
- I was 8 when I started, but when I got a manager and started auditioning a lot I was 11.
How long have you been singing?
- In the shower? Forever. haha
When do you think your CD will come out?
- Making a CD is a HUGE process so I’ll be sure to let you guys know when it’s coming out! I’ll probably release a single or two on iTunes first, though, so you can all listen to that/those and be a part of the process.
What is your favorite dish to cook/bake?
- I love making Italian foods and baking desserts!
What’s one thing you wish would happen to Sam?
- I think it’d be great if there was an episode where Freddie bet Sam she couldn’t act like a girly girl for a week. So, of course, Sam bets that she can. All of the things Sam would do to prove she was a girly girl could be hilarious!
Do you speak a foreign language?
- I’m in the process of learning French, and I took one semester of Japanese because two of my brothers speak it. My other brother speaks German.
Did the dating age now change to 21?
- Group dates at 16. Single dating not til 18! I don’t mind cuz I’m really busy anyways.
What’s your take on Freddie and Sam?
- Even though Sam picks on Freddie, I think she genuinely does care about him like any good friend would. If anyone else started picking on Freddie, Sam would defend him at all costs!
Who are your favorite 5 bands/artists to listen to?
Picking 5 is SO hard because I like a ton of bands and artists and SUCH a variety of music, but I just picked the ones that I know the music of best.
- Bands: Daughtry, Journey, Styx, Plain White T’s, and Queen
- Artists: Gavin DeGraw, Carrie Underwood, Josh Kelley, Kelly Clarkson, and Carole King
Who have you seen in concert?
- American Idol top 10 every year since 2nd season, and Nysnc. haha yeahhh I was 8. And on iCarly, we were very very VERY fortunate to see live performances from the Plain White T’s and Good Charlotte! So that was sort of like a private concert…woohoo!
Do you hang ot with your iCarly castmates a lot off-set?
- Actually, none of us really have time to hang out off-set.
What’s new on the iCarly set?
- Well we’ve had a bunch of AWESOME new sets, but they’re torn down every week to make room for the next sets.
What was your first TV job?
- Mad TV!
What are your favorite songs?
- SOOOO MANY! What are the problems you run into trying to mix the life of a kid with the life of a celebrity?
- There really aren’t any problems, just keep grounded!
What was Sam doing in the “You can’t do that!” iCarly CD segment?
- Whatever you want her to be doing I guess!
How do you put so much energy into your acting?
- Before a scene starts, I’ll jump in place or do a little tap dancing.
How did you get your first acting role?
- By going on auditions and callbacks and working really hard!
Did you take acting classes?
- When I was 9 I took classes on Saturdays for about eight months through Laura Lasky and Christopher Perez. They were amazing!
When do you think we can hear one of your songs?
- When I have it as good as it can be for my fans who deserve the best!
Don’t you think some of your fans are annoying?
- No! My mom taught me when I was really young how important it is to appreciate the people who are putting you where you are, following your career every step of the way, and supporting all your endeavors.
Do you ever have trouble keeping a straight face?
- Yes! Jerry makes me laugh. hahaha
Are you dating an actor?
- No, I’m not dating.

- In real life? No.

- No. I think it’s a privilege and an honor, it just takes a long time!

- Our crew and directors are extremely nice! Not like dictators at all!
What is your favorite thing about being a famous, amazing, and beautiful actress?
- Wow, that is so kind! My favorite thing is being appreciated by people like you!

- So far, it is self-published!
Do you like jeans?
- I LOVE jeans!
What kinds of sports do you do?
- I figure skate all the time. Uechi-Ryu karate. I can also play hockey and ice dance. Basketball is fun, but that’s just a hobby for me.

- I don’t do either much because there’s a beautiful world out there to see, but I do probably text more often than I IM!
How did you get on iCarly?
- I did a guest spot on Zoey 101 and the producer remembered me and kept me in mind for iCarly!

- Sorry, I don’t know how to set one of those things up!
Do you have any famous person that you would really love to meet?
- JOHNNY DEPP! MERYL STREEP! GAVIN DEGRAW! SHAUN WHITE! REESE WITHERSPOON! CARRIE UNDERWOOD! SHIA LABEOUF! I’ve been fortunate enough to have met a lot of people that I’ve dreamed of meeting (such as Harrison Ford, Josh Hartnett, Chris Daughtry, Jason Castro, Carla Gugino, Mariska Hargitay, Tyne Daly, and many, many more!)

- I just created a channel and I’m working on that! BUT jennettefayemccurdy IS NOT MINE!!!

- Yeah, all the time. I went with my friend Paul and it was INSANE!
Do you have any “follow your dreams” advice?
- Well, following your dreams is SO SO SO important. I’m here to tell you, you don’t need any connections, you don’t need luck, you don’t need anything other than HARD WORK, DETERMINATION, AND A GREAT SUPPORT SYSTEM.

- As often as possible!
Do you think there is a resemblance between Samantha Puckett and Trisha Kirby (your role on Zoey 101)?
- I think they look a lot alike. hahaha. Well, they’re both edgy.
Is it fun picking on Freddie in the show?
- Yeah, cuz we know it adds humor to the show!
A lot of people say they haven’t changed once they started acting. But really, is there a change with having a job and everything? Being famous?
- Personality-wise I’m just the same as I always was! My schedule’s just busier!
Have you ever had to wear glasses?
- Only for a role. It was my idea and the producers liked it!

- I’m trying to figure out how to sell it as an e-zine through my website. I’ll let you know when I know more!
Have you ever watched Disney channel?
- Yes, of course! I remember watching Shia LaBeouf on Even Stevens and thinking “He’s so talented!”

- Yes, I’ve met Selena a few times. She’s SO nice and beautiful!

- No, there would be no possible time unless I never slept!

- Yes.
What was your favorite iCarly episode to shoot?
- I had the most fun filming the iDream of Dance episode. Our three parter, iGo To Japan (new season) was uber fun, too!

- Hmmm, that’s a tough one……all of our writers are so good….but if I had to choose…..I think I’d go with one by the name of……………………..ANDREW!
Which iCarly writer is the best rapper (including Dan)?
- That one’s easy…Andrew!
Which iCarly writer let you taste the most delicious ice cream?
- Once again, that would be ANDREW!!! ANDREW ROCKS. He’s cooler than an ice cube…hahaha thought I’d serve up a little cheese platter there for ya. But seriously, Andrew is the epitome of cool.
