How have you all been? I’ve been doing pretty well (until now, that is)! I have a high fever and a really bad cough. :0( I went to Boo Boo’s birthday party yesterday. The party was thrown by KEWL magazine. Let me tell you, everyone who works on KEWL is so nice! KEWL magazine not only focuses on the basic stuff you get in every teen magazine, it also incorporates important messages and themes, like ideas for charity work and tips on being healthier. Anyone who hasn’t seen KEWL magazine yet definitely needs to check it out!
So anyways, I went to Boo Boo’s party yesterday and he was very nice. I’d actually never met him before yesterday! I had lots of fun at the party. I basically did KEWL mag interviews and shout-outs the whole time! The great folks who work at KEWL also taught me how to work a Nerf gun… not necessarily a great idea for someone with a high fever! But, despite constantly holding back coughing fits, I had a great time!
Project Runway…I previously listed my favorite contestants as Kit, Kevin, Steven, Victorya, and Christian. If you’re a fan of the show, you’ll know that only one of my original favorite contestants is left… Christian! After seeing more of the show and getting a feel for each of the designers, I could see why Steven left early on in the competition. I liked Kevin’s style but I think he was too similar to Jeffrey (winner of Season 3). I loved Kit and Victorya, so I was really disappointed when they left in consecutive weeks. But Christian is still left! So he’d better make it to Bryant Park!!! I like Rami and Jillian, too. So I’m hoping those 3 will be the finalists!
What else? Oh! I watched the U.S. Figure Skating Nationals today. I was so glad Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto won the title for Ice Dancing….for the 5th year in a row, I believe! And I was very happy with the Ladies’ results. Mirai Nagasu, Rachael Flatt, and Ashley Wagner placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd! All of their programs were simply stunning and they skated their hearts out. I felt bad for Kimmie Meissner, though!! But she is such a great skater and she seems like a nice person so I’m sure she’ll do better in competitions to come.
The past week has been an exciting week for me, skating-wise. I’ve met Sasha Cohen (2006 Olympic silver medalist and 2006 National Champion), Jeffrey Buttle (2008 Canadian National silver medalist), and Evan Lysacek (2007 National Champion)!!! How cool is that?!?!
Well, that’s it for now. I’ll try to write again soon….
~ Jennette :0)
